For most people in the world, sweating is among the things wish that they could stop doing. Sweating itself is something that many people find to be very unpleasant – it’s messy, it smells terrible and it makes people self conscious.
The problem is that sweating is also a valuable part of the body’s functions so there’s no healthy way to stop people from sweating; it can do more harm than good. But for people who have to suffer through things like excessively sweaty feet, there is hope – doctors are looking for a cure for sweaty feet.
Everyone may sweat, but there actually are people in the world who sweat excessively – it can be anywhere from their feet to their armpits to their hands. These people suffer from a disease known as hyperhidrosis, where overactive sweat glands are constantly producing far more sweat than necessary.
There are a couple of different ways to manage hyperhidrosis but there is no actual cure. There are medications that can be taken to try and control the amount of sweat in the body and there’s even a surgical procedure that can temporarily stop sweating in some areas.
But not everyone who wants a cure for sweaty feet has hyperhidrosis. These people still want to stop their feet from getting excessively sweaty, though. Sweat smells very bad especially the more you sweat and everyone else can smell it as well; it looks gross to others looking at you; and it also feels unpleasant for the one who’s sweating. It’s easy to see why people want a cure for sweating feet when you take that into account.
The reason that feet sweat so much is because, after the armpits, feet have the most amount of sweat glands in the body. The smell that’s associated with sweaty feet is actually different because the bacteria that is produced is actually different – it’s the same stuff you can find on rotted food.
This is because the smell from sweating feet is actually caused by a type of bacteria that’s unique to feet on the body – and that same bacteria can be found on rotted food. Luckily, there are many different remedies you can try out while trying to find a cure for sweating feet.
First, try adding a coup of vinegar and some dish soap to a tub of water that’s lukewarm and soaking you feet in it for around ten minutes. Once that’s done, dry your feet, refill the tub and add 1 cup of oatmeal (mash the coats until the water is milky) and soak your feet again.
You can also try soaking them in cooled tea. Something else that will help: keeping your feet dry as often as possible and wearing cotton socks. Those are the most popular attempts at a cure for sweating feet.
